Our Dear certified AVS associate Value Specialist around the world, Let’s Convert AVS to VMA and take steps toward CVS.

even if ,your Associate Value Specialist Certification expired from a long time and recertification is no longer available !!

SAVE International Certification Board is offering you the opportunity to convert your entry level certification to the Value Methodology Associate (VMA ) Certification .

Individuals with an expired AVS certification can convert to VMA certification, by competing the AVS to VMA Conversion online application, and paying a fee of 50$ .

Now the conversion fee is the same for SAVE members and non-members , and you do not need to retake the exam.

Once you process your conversion application and payment, SAVE international will update your SAVE profile to reflect the VMA certification.

Please note, those AVS who have not converted to the VMA certification by June 30,2020 will be required to complete a new application for the VMA certification . Those who do not wish to convert to a VMA certification should prepare to apply for CVS Certified Value Specialist .

Steps toward CVS

After conversion ,to take steps toward CVS :

1- Remind yourself, by attending few presentations about value engineering in Arabic , English and French

2- To Receive our Newsletters ,never hesitate to register here through the footer or sidebar .

3- In addition , you can subscribe to our new YOUTUBE channel ,to watch videos for free.

4- If you have the intention to attend VE workshops , Submit your CV to Dr.Jacqueline Fahmy,PhD,PMP,CSSBB,CVS

5- To attend VMF 1, now you can attend virtually or physically. Accordingly, VECG will publish the new schedule soon.

6- In addition VMF 2 as well. But, Please note that VMF1 is a prerequisite for VMF2.

What’s the role of Value Engineering VE to speed Recovery from Covid19 ?

To know how could the value engineering helps in speeding recovery from Covid 19 .

Firstly, let’s agree that COVID-19 pandemic is far more than a health crisis! It is affecting societies and econ­omies at their core.

Secondly, the impact of the pandemic will vary from country to country.

Thirdly, and most importantly, great losses in output from lockdowns are likely over the whole quarter, which ,makes the application of Value Engineering ,even more urgent than before ,to reduce the waste of resources .

HOW COULD WE FACE THE ECONOMIC IMPACTS BY Empowering VE to speed Recovery from Covid19 PANDEMIC?

However, assessing the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on societies, economies and SMEs is fundamental to inform and tailor the responses of governments and partners . As a result ,to recover from the crisis and ensure that no one is left behind in this effort. We should all cooperate to find an end for this crisis !!

Accordingly, Dr. Jacqueline Fahmy , director of membership-SAVE international, decided to share for free her wide experience in VE for one month to spread the knowledge related to value engineering .to serve the societies to speed recovery from COVID 19 economic impacts .

Without ugent Socio-ecomomic responses, the recovery from COVID 19 could be impossible .

Without urgent socio-eco­nomic responses, global suffering will escalate, jeopardizing lives and livelihoods for years to come . Undertaking Immediate development responses in this crisis with an eye to the future , today is a must. Normally ,The choices coun­tries make now and the support they receive will affect development trajectories in the long-term!!

In conclusion, It’s so important at this time to clarify to parties concerned :

• The difference between the Value Engineering and cost reduction to avoid risks and dealing with the unknown !
• Reduce the risk of losing resources for unwanted or unnecessary secondary functions.

My recent value engineering workshop, conducted Feb 2020,was a reason to discover that i had wrong thoughts about the new generation ! ….I’ve thought that they like only to spend their time.. playing PlayStation, mobile games,….etc . As they dream to make the world automated !!! without effort !!

But !!

Now i can say that I was wrong !

First of all,The new generation knows very well their true needs. They listen carefully but only if you have words that deserve the listening !! They are just more practical than we are.

Also ,the recent workshop organized by the SAVE Eastern Mediterranean & Africa chapter was a true challenge. We needed to gain the attention of engineers with wide backgrounds in their discipline (minimum 20 years), engineers that have a great position in a prestigious organization, and students from a university.

Apart from the difference of age, position and knowledge, all of them were able to use and apply the tools and techniques of Value Engineering . They were able to discuss and exchange ideas as well. The experts provided their vast engineering knowledge with the students and the students were a great source of idea generation.

Never hesitate to get the new generation involved! They represent the future….and we can learn more from them ..So it’s so important understanding their true needs and how they measure and evaluate value.

VMA Value Methodology Associate Exams are now available !

Now You can find the new VMA exam procedures in place , online at www.value-eng.org/vmaexam.

The new procedures include an individual’s approval from their Value Methodology Fundamentals 1 (VMF 1) course instructor.

Before registering for the exam and taking the exam online at a testing center you should get the approval.

Using testing centers, which are located world-wide, is more secure and reliable (as compared to the previous remote proctoring) .

The testing centers allow individuals to receive their official exam score as soon as they complete the exam.

PLEASE NOTE:

Due to the global COVID-19 outbreak, individuals may not be able to take the VMA exam for a period of time.

Many of the testing centers around the world temporary closed until further notice.

Kindly note that being a certified VMA is a good step toward being a Certified Value Specialist (CVS ).
